Update on Ather 450 Series: Cruise control upgrade imminent. Detailed information available.

The electric vehicle (EV) manufacturer, Ather Energy, is set to introduce a significant update to its popular 450 series in 2023. One of the key features slated for inclusion is cruise control, which will be available for the Ather 450S model.

Ather Energy has been continuously enhancing its 450 series, with improvements such as larger batteries and extended ranges. However, the 2023 update focuses specifically on the addition of advanced features like cruise control. This emphasis on cruise control is particularly notable for the 450S model, which has already been identified as one of the models to receive this upgrade.

The Ather 450 series consists of three models: the 450S, the 450X, and the 450 Apex. While the 450X and other models are expected to receive connectivity and performance improvements, the 450S will stand out with its integration of cruise control.

The Ather 450S, with its base 2.9 kWh battery pack, offers a top speed of 100 kmph and a 0-40 kmph acceleration time of 2.9 seconds. The smaller battery pack version claims a range of 122 km, while the larger battery pack promises a range of 161 km on a single charge. It is projected that the cruise control feature will be available on vehicles equipped with the Atherstack Pro software.

The Atherstack Pro software, which may be an additional cost for some models, includes a range of features such as location sharing, an extended battery warranty of 5 years or 50,000 km, and a 7-inch touchscreen cluster. The 3.7 kWh version of the Atherstack Pro also offers enhancements like the "magic twist" and theft alert.

Industry sources suggest that the integration of cruise control is a key new feature for the 450 series. In fact, the cruise control feature is not new to the Indian EV market, as Ola Electric added it to its S1 range via the Ola Move OS 2.0 update in June 2022.

An over-the-air (OTA) update is expected to be made available for the implementation of cruise control. It is also projected that the 450X and 450 Apex will also receive this update in the future.

In addition to the 450S, the Ather 450 series now includes four models: the 450s, the 450X, the 450 Apex, and the upcoming Ather 450 Plus. The Ather 450 Apex, a limited-edition model launched to commemorate the company's 10th anniversary, is priced at ₹1.84 lakh and is only available with the 3.7 kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of 157 km.

These updates to the Ather 450 series are expected to solidify Ather Energy's position as a leading player in the Indian EV market. With the addition of cruise control, Ather Energy is demonstrating its commitment to providing advanced and innovative features to its customers.

The Ather Energy's 2023 update for the 450 series isn't limited to just electric vehicle improvements; it also includes the addition of advanced features like cruise control, setting it apart from other gadgets in the market. Particularly, the 450S model will integrate cruise control, positioning it among the smart-home-devices with human-like competencies.
