Upgrading charging speed on the hypothesized Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra to 60W may bring minimal improvement - delving into the known details.

The much-awaited Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra is rumoured to bring significant improvements in camera technology, design, and S Pen support, according to various sources.

Camera Improvements

The primary camera of the Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to feature a new 200MP sensor, the ISOCELL HP2+, with a wider f/1.4 aperture lens. This wider aperture allows for about 47% more light intake compared to the Galaxy S25 Ultra, potentially resulting in much better low-light photography, less noise, and sharper images due to shorter shutter times that reduce motion blur.

Additional camera improvements include upgrades to the 5x periscope and 3x telephoto lenses, with the 3x telephoto resolution increasing from 10MP to 12MP. These enhancements are described as the biggest since the Galaxy S20 Ultra and are expected to solve many image quality issues found in previous models.

Design Changes

The Galaxy S26 Ultra is expected to maintain the overall metal and glass sandwich design with an Armor Aluminum frame and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 or possibly Victus 3 on front and back. A notable design refinement will be the removal of the separate raised camera rings for each lens seen in recent models, instead featuring a cleaner, more integrated camera module or flush lenses.

The bezels will be slimmer than before, enabling a slightly larger screen size (~6.89 inches compared to 6.86 inches on the S25 Ultra) without increasing the width, thanks to very narrow bezel borders. The phone's thickness is expected to reduce to around 7.x mm from 8.2 mm, while maintaining a 5,000 mAh battery, which would be an impressive engineering feat to keep battery capacity high in a slimmer chassis.

The rear panel will look cleaner with a more integrated camera setup and a squared bottom design to accommodate the S Pen silo.

S Pen Compatibility

Contrary to earlier speculation, the Galaxy S26 Ultra will retain full S Pen support, with stylus latency around 2.8 milliseconds for near-instant ink performance, ideal for note-taking and drawing.

Other Features

The phone will include a larger vapor chamber cooling system (about 1.2 times bigger than the S25 Ultra's), improving thermal management and battery efficiency during intense use. Charging speeds are also expected to improve slightly, with support for 60W charging instead of previous standards.

However, it's important to note that the official data for the Galaxy S26 Ultra's charging speed is usually conservative, according to IceUniverse.

In summary, the Galaxy S26 Ultra focuses on refining the camera system with better light intake and improved lenses, enhancing design aesthetics with a slimmer and cleaner look, and maintaining strong S Pen functionality for productivity. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the Galaxy Unpacked event, where Samsung is reportedly planning to reveal the Galaxy S26 Ultra in January next year.
