Ripple's enigma with Coinbase intensifies, as a substantial sum of $51,848,056 in Ripple coins stirs up the leading US digital currency exchange.

US-based cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase left questions unanswered as a massive $51,848,056 worth of XRP tokens simultaneously transfers astonished the platform

In June, an "XRPWallets" account mapped 52 cold wallets linked to Coinbase, holding a combined total of nearly 974 million XRP. However, recent developments have shown a significant shift in the distribution of these digital assets.

Over the past few weeks, anonymous wallets have been sending millions of XRP to Coinbase. The latest transfer happened today, with 16.71 million XRP (over $51.8 million) moving from an anonymous wallet to Coinbase. This transfer amount is nearly identical to the "slice size" that has appeared in major U.S. exchange's recent wallet reshuffles, suggesting an internal redistribution.

Researchers have noticed a substantial drop in the total visible XRP balance across identified wallets since June. Approximately 594 million XRP is missing from the set of wallets the tracker can currently identify. This represents a drop of over 60% in the set of wallets the tracker can currently identify.

The repetition of similar-size large transfers from anonymous wallets to Coinbase during this period suggests strategic repositioning or preparing liquidity/funds for trading or custody following regulatory clarity. However, Coinbase’s exact “XRP playbook” remains opaque to outsiders.

These large XRP movements notably coincide with legal developments: the long-running Ripple vs. SEC lawsuit was officially dismissed by the Second Circuit on August 7, 2025, removing a major legal obstacle for XRP. Following this, bullish activity in XRP and transfers of approximately 16.6 million XRP (worth about $50 million) to Coinbase have been reported.

It is unclear whether the platforms involved are connected to Ripple's ODL network. The tokens' current whereabouts remain unclear. They may have moved to new wallets, an external custodian, or been withdrawn by a few large clients.

As of now, only 23 of those wallets can be identified by the tracker, holding a total of around 379.5 million XRP. The remaining unidentified wallets held around 16.8 million XRP each in June, while the identified wallets held about 26.8 million XRP each.

Until Coinbase provides an explanation, the visible evidence suggests a shrinking public stash, repeating numbers, and the possibility of a hidden plan. The blockchain can track the location and movement of the tokens, but it does not provide an explanation for the shuffle.

  1. Price prediction for XRP has become a topic of interest due to its recent significant transfers to Coinbase, with the latest transfer worth over $51.8 million.
  2. The cryptocurrency market, including Bitcoin and Ethereum, has been watching the movements of XRP with anticipation, as the redistribution of XRP seems to be preparing for potential trading or custody following regulatory clarity.
  3. Financial analysts are keeping a close eye on the distribution of XRP, especially after the dismissal of the Ripple vs. SEC lawsuit, as the bullish activity in XRP following this event has been notable.
  4. Blockchain technology reveals that these large XRP movements have been coming from anonymous wallets, raising speculations about a possible whale's strategy or the involvement of large clients.
  5. Regardless of the current uncertainties, the technology continues to provide a transparent record of the tokens' location and movement, making it easier for traders and enthusiasts to follow the trends in the finance and technology sphere.
