UV-C Air Purifier Incorporated into SRS Product Lineup

In the wake of the rampant coronavirus pandemic, a plethora of companies have been forced to adapt to the evolving market dynamics. One such adaptor is the Slovakian event technology manufacturer, SRS Group, with their new product line, SRS medilux.

Destructive UV-C Rays for Cleaner Air

The SRS medilux PMX2A48 is an UV-C-based air purifier that deploys aggressive UV-C radiation to eliminate microorganisms like bacteria, fungi, and viruses. Naturally occurring, this short-wave radiation is primarily absorbed by the atmosphere, hardly reaching the earth's surface. Yet, with the help of UV-C lamps, it can efficiently kill germs.

Equipped with UV-C lamps and ventilation systems, the SRS medilux draws in ambient air, guides it past the lamps, and then recirculates the purified air back into the environment. The UV-C radiation virtually annihilates viruses, bacteria, and fungi in the process.

Designed to fit upright or hang from the ceiling or wall, these air purifiers are surprisingly quiet, making them suitable for noise-sensitive environments too.

Enclosed Construction and Long Shelf Life

Since UV-C radiation is highly potent, human exposure must be avoided at all costs. Thus, the self-contained design of the SRS medilux allows for safe installation in populated spaces. They are particularly beneficial for poorly ventilated areas such as windowless offices, meeting rooms, or locker rooms.

Available in black and white, these UV-C air purifiers boast an approximately 8,000-hour service life. However, the lamps need to be replaced after this cycle for safety reasons, as performance deteriorates after extensive use. A micro-controller ensures the devices' lifespan is monitored and indicates when lamp replacement is necessary. Additionally, a tripod and ceiling mounting kit are available as accessories.

WiFi Control in the Future

According to SRS, the UV-C air purifiers will soon feature WiFi modules, allowing users to control their units via mobile apps for iOS and Android devices. For now, in Germany, the UV-C lamps are exclusively distributed by cast C. Adolph & RST Distribution GmbH, a distributor with decades of experience in the distribution of renowned international brands and a purveyor of their own brands, C.Adolph and fiRSTstage.

Established in Bratislava, the SRS Group specializes in the development and design of lighting and rigging equipment. In addition to dimmers, splitters, lighting consoles, and DMX switching packages, they produce wired and wireless motor controls and other stage machinery equipment.

The SRS medilux PMX2A48, a product from the Slovakian SRS Group, not only serves as an event technology solution but also delves into health-and-wellness, using science-backed technology in the form of UV-C radiation for air purification. In the near future, these UV-C air purifiers will incorporate technology that allows users to control them via WiFi modules and mobile apps, setting a new standard for event technology.
