VDL Unveils Futura 3 Coach at Busworld Europe; Van Hool Showcases Astron & Astromega
Busworld Europe is set to host two major players in the industry, VDL and Van Hool, who will showcase their latest innovations. VDL will unveil the new Futura 3 coach, while Van Hool will highlight its Astron super-high decker and Astromega double-decker vehicles.
VDL's new Futura 3 coach boasts a range of improvements. It features a redesigned climate control system, LED lighting, ergonomic seating, and updated ADAS driver assistance systems. The vehicle aims to reduce fuel consumption by up to 15% and offers improved comfort and technology features. Notably, the Futura 3 can operate using alternative HVO fuel sources and has improved sight lines and structural reinforcements.
VDL aimed to reduce maintenance costs by using modular components and improving accessibility to technical systems. The company will also display the Citea 13.5-metre Low Entry vehicle at the event. Meanwhile, Van Hool will showcase its Astron super-high decker and Astromega double-decker vehicles. Both companies will present unique solutions at Busworld Europe.
The unveiling of the Futura 3 marks a significant milestone for VDL, as it is the first joint appearance of VDL and Van Hool since their integration following VDL's acquisition of Van Hool in 2024.
