Vodafone and TotalEnergies join forces to offer complimentary Wi-Fi access to clients at fuel stops.

Vodafone Ghana has formed a partnership with TotalEnergies Marketing Ghana PLC to offer complimentary Wi-Fi to customers visiting their service stations, lubrication bays, restaurants, and electric vehicle charging docks. This new initiative, focused on facilitating internet connectivity, reflects Vodafone Ghana's commitment to providing customers with reliable and fast wireless internet solutions.

The service, based on Vodafone Ghana's Enterprise Wi-Fi, ensures customers remain connected while they are at TotalEnergies service stations. In addition, the Wi-Fi solution will boost efficiency and productivity within the company, as employees can work from any location within the business premises.

Tawa Bolarin, Director of the Enterprise Business Unit at Vodafone Ghana, highlighted the potential of this collaboration to expand internet connectivity further. "We realize the growing need for Internet connectivity among the mobile population; our partnership with TotalEnergies not only enhances the user experience for our digital-savvy customers but also extends Wi-Fi access to more Ghanaians," she stated.

Ms. Bolarin commended TotalEnergies for their innovative approach and revealed that customers could soon expect the service at several other locations in the near future. "We are thrilled to partner with TotalEnergies in the launch of this free Wi-Fi service, powered by Vodafone Ghana, at select TotalEnergies Service Stations. Additional sites in Accra and Kumasi are expected to come online by the end of 2022," she revealed.

Olufemi Babajide, Managing Director of TotalEnergies Marketing Ghana PLC, emphasized the significance of working with both the private and public sectors to promote innovation and new technologies. "We extend our gratitude to the various institutions who have facilitated this partnership, marking an important step towards accelerating change," stated Mr. Babajide.

Although Vodafone Ghana is currently planning to dispose of its stake in Ghana operations to Africa-focused Telecel [3], this partnership demonstrates their ongoing commitment to Ghana's digital transformation journey.
