WETEX 2025 Showcases Dubai's Drive Towards Sustainable Mobility

Dubai's 27th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) is set to focus on electric vehicles and sustainable transport from 30 September to 2 October 2025. Organised by Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), the event aligns with Dubai's Net Zero 2050 Strategy and Green Mobility Strategy 2030.

WETEX 2025 will feature a Green Mobility Hall showcasing advances in hydrogen, low-emission fuels, and artificial intelligence for EV adoption and infrastructure development. The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) will unveil projects such as zero-emission buses and a Public Transport Sustainability Roadmap. DEWA, in partnership with others, is building infrastructure to support sustainable transport, including over 1,500 charging points through its EV Green Charger initiative.

The event is attracting a record number of local and international companies presenting sustainable mobility solutions across land, sea, and air. Private sector leaders like Gargash Group and AW Rostamani are launching products and partnerships tailored to the UAE market. This surge in interest is bolstered by a 260% increase in UAE EV sales in 2024, positioning Dubai as a hub for sustainable mobility solutions.

WETEX 2025, with its focus on electric vehicles and sustainable transport, is set to enhance Dubai's competitiveness in the EV sector. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA and Chairman of WETEX, sees the exhibition as a platform to attract efficient technologies and reinforce Dubai's commitment to reducing emissions and enhancing energy efficiency in the transport sector.
