WhatsApp's AI-Powered Feature Quick Recap: A Game Changer for Efficient Messaging

WhatsApp is set to revolutionise the messaging experience with its new AI-powered feature, Quick Recap. This innovative tool, currently under development and slated for a phased rollout, is expected to provide a concise overview of unread messages across multiple chats[1][2].

The feature, identified in the Android beta app version 2.25.21.12, is still under active development, with even beta users unable to access it as of late July 2025[1][2][3]. Insiders anticipate an imminent preview period for beta testers, likely within the next few weeks or months following July 2025[1][2].

Once launched, Quick Recap will allow users to generate brief but informative summaries of unread messages from up to five chats. These summaries will be processed within a privacy-preserving enclave, ensuring end-to-end encryption, and will remain private within secure environments, thanks to Meta's Private Processing technology[1][2][3].

It's worth noting that the feature will be optional and disabled by default. Moreover, chats protected by the Advanced Chat Privacy settings will be excluded from the Quick Recap feature. Users will need to enable Quick Recap through the App Settings[1].

Ashish Singh, the Chief Copy Editor at the platform, has been instrumental in the development of Quick Recap. Fluent in "Geek", Ashish has been working with tech jargon since 2020. Prior to WhatsApp, he worked at Times Internet and Jagran English[1].

In a nutshell, Quick Recap is expected to launch first in beta within the near future (mid to late 2025), followed by a broader gradual rollout. However, a precise public release date is not yet available[1][2]. Stay tuned for more updates on this exciting new feature!
